Overview

Smart Fuel Station and Connected Forecourt

Modern fuel stations require reliable integration across dispensers, payment systems, kiosks, sensors, and management platforms. In this project, the MSI MS-CF03, powered by the Intel® Processor N97, was integrated into a forecourt controller to provide local data processing and device connectivity.

The platform supports up to 16GB DDR5-4800 memory, dual 2.5GbE LAN, RS-232/422/485, RS-232, GPIO, TPM 2.0, hardware watchdog, M.2 expansion, SATA storage, and 9–36V DC input.

Key Application Challenges

Fuel retail systems must integrate equipment from multiple vendors while operating within limited installation space. They also need to maintain local device communication when cloud or remote network connections are unavailable.

Flexible Ethernet, serial, and GPIO connectivity helps connect both modern and legacy equipment. Devices using Current Loop or proprietary interfaces may require an external converter or communication module.
